Shelter by Colton Dixon

Passing through as I get another stare my way
Can’t always cover up the newest scar on my face
Days always in a daze
Without care or the time of day
Lord, take my hand and lead me to a safer place

Cause he is my shelter when the rain falls
He’s always there when I need to call
He comforts me gently and opens my eyes
He wipes away tears that I cannot hide
He is my shelter

As I sign the papers saying that she’s gonna leave
They were laying on the table for me to see
Tell me why she’d thrown away the love we had invested
What I ever did to deserve losing my best friend
I’m down on my knees and Lord I need you to breathe

Cause he is my shelter when the rain falls
He’s always there when I need to call
He comforts me gently and opens my eyes
He wipes away tears that I cannot hide

He is my shelter for when the rain falls
I can’t believe I made it through another day
Everyone seems to look the other way
I don’t own a change of clothes
And I have no home
But I can be sure that I am not alone

Cause you are my shelter when the rain falls
You’re always near when I need to call
You comfort me gently and open my eyes
You wipe away tears that I cannot hide
You are my shelter when the rain falls
You’re always there when I need to call
You comfort me gently and open my eyes
You wipe away tears that I’ve yet to cry
You are my shelter
